The Undertakings for Collective Investments in Transferable Securities are a set of EU directives that aim to allow collective investment schemes to operate freely throughout the EU on the basis of a single authorisation from one member state.

The Key Investor Information Document (KIID) is part of the UCITS IV Directive. The KIID format and wording has been heavily prescribed by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) with the objective of providing retail investors with a ‘plain language’ document from which to compare all UCITS products.

Infovest provides the tools for complete KIID preparation, management, monitoring and dissemination.

Information Solution Set

Infovest has undertaken extensive research into KIID requirements. All KIIDs must be prepared using the ESMA template, must be fair, clear and not misleading. They need to be written in a concise manner in non-technical language, and should not exceed two pages of A4-sized paper when printed. All essential elements of a KIID must be annually updated.

Each KIID should include information about the essential characteristics of a UCITS security, so that investors are able to understand the nature and risks of the product and take investment decisions on an informed basis. Specifically, a KIID must detail:

  • Title of the UCITS
  • Objective and investment policy
  • Risk and reward profile
  • Charges
  • Past performance

Infovest provides the tools for complete KIID preparation, management, monitoring and dissemination. The combination of Infovest’s expertise in portfolio compliance and complex reporting on an industrial basis makes us the ideal partner for meeting your KIID requirements.
